Information about the great leader CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ
The full name of Shivaji Maharaj is SHIVAJI SHAHAJI BHOSAL. He was born on 19th February 1630.He was born in SHIVNERI FORT. JIJABAI was his mother and his father's name was SHAHAJIRAJE.
CHILDHOOD
The first six years of his life were full of hustle and bustle. Jijabai used to tell the tales of Ram, Krishan, Bhima and Abhimanyu as well as recited the Abhangas of Dhyanoba, Namdeo and Eknath. He used to play many games like hide and seek with his friends. Shahaji and Jijabai took him to Banglore and taught horse riding, wrestling etc. In Pune, Dadoji taught him to love people and to treat them well. He married Saibai, the daughter of Naik-Nimbalkar of Faltan, at the age of 14 in Lal Mahal.
WORK
He took an oath for the foundation of 'Swarajya' (selfrule) in the temple of Rayreshwar in 1645. He thought that there is no Swarajya without having the forts. So he decided to win Torana and to hoist the flag. He renamed Torna as 'Prachandgad'
To kill Shivaji Adilshah sent Afzalkhan knowing that he was a crooked minded person. He preferred to meet him personally without battle and he killed Afzalkhan at the down ofPratapgad. Being angry Adilshah sent Siddhi Johar. But Shivaji Maharaj escaped from PANHALAGAD with the help of Baji Prabhu . He made a fun of Shahistekhan by cutting his fingers in Lal Mahal on 5th April 1663. He escaped from the imprisonment of Aurangzeb very cleverly in 1666.
Shivaji Maharaj and Jijabai always felt to own Kondana. He sent TANAJI MALUSARE who died but won the battle. Shivaji Maharaj exclaimed with great pity that 'We won the fort but lost the lion', So Kondana was renamed as Sinhagad. He went to Tanaji's home and attend Rayba's (Tanaji's son) marriage.
With the help of Gagabhatta in 1674 he did his "Rajyabhishek "( coronation) to declare the foundation of 'Swarajya' . He loved all people, saints, parents and respected them. He published severally to the criminals. He respected all the religious also.
He was the incarnation of ideal son, leader and great warrior. Salute to this great king!
